Weeknight comfort that costs little and freezes flat. Reheat a portion and toast a bun for a two-minute dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp Cajun blend or Smokehouse rub
- Buns, to serve
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef with the onion and pepper in a skillet; drain and transfer to the slow cooker.
- Stir in the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, brown sugar, mustard, and spice blend.
- Cook on low 4–6 hours. Serve on toasted buns.
Make-Ahead & Storage
Freeze flat in bags up to 3 months; vacuum-seals well for reheating from the bag. Toast fresh buns at serving.
Notes
A splash of hot sauce or a spoonful of BBQ sauce rounds out the tang. Also great over baked potatoes or rice.
